Frye Diggs establishes a Charitable Trust and leaves a legacy at Carroll Hospital Center
The Carroll County community embraced Frye Diggs-a man remembered for his integrity and respect, as well as for the classic 1934 Rolls-Royce he drove through the streets of Westminster. Mr. Diggs shared a love for many things in life, one of the most prominent being his community.
In November 2000, at the age of 89, Mr. Diggs passed away after losing his battle with cancer. And although Mr. Diggs is no longer with the Carroll County community, his generosity and love lives on. During his lifetime, Mr. Diggs established a charitable trust-with the plan to ultimately benefit Carroll Hospital Center.
During his long battle with cancer, Mr. Diggs was cared for by Flavio Kruter, M.D., an oncologist affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center and the Carroll County Cancer Center. He spent many weeks at Carroll Hospital Center where he admired the staff who treated him like family. In recognition of his great care, Mr. Diggs left a legacy. In 2008, the charitable trust, with an estimated total of nearly $350,000 will be turned over to Carroll Hospital Center and earmarked for oncology services. Mr. Diggs wanted to ensure others suffering from cancer continue to receive the best quality care, just as he did.
